Out of School Provisions

Highfields offers both before and after school care for those children whose parents require an extended day. These facilities are run by fully qualified members of staff and offer a safe and caring environment for children outside of normal School hours.

Before School Club

In addition to after school care, the School runs a Before School Club from 8.00am to 8.30pm which is supervised by Miss Crocker. Parents are requested to contact the School Office if they wish to make use of this facility.

Cost per session is £2.00

After School Club

Highfields After School Club (ASC) is open to all children attending Highfields, to provide safe and enjoyable care for those children whose parents are unable to meet them at the end of the school day.

The club is based in the Main School building which is where everyone registers at the start of each session. Puzzles, board games and simple crafts are on offer. We also provide areas for quiet reading, homework and occasional use of the TV, a music room, the Sports Hall and, during fine weather, the sports fields. The wide range of facilities available enable us to participate in a variety of activities.

The aim is to secure a safe, happy, caring environment where children can pursue interests and enthusiasms in a relaxed yet disciplined atmosphere.
Staffing is arranged on a flexible basis, according to the number of children registering for each session. Mrs Kim Larking, a fully qualified nursery nurse, is present at all times, assisted by a team of local 6th form students. Each student has provided excellent references and comes highly recommended.

We work on a basis of no more than eight children to each supervisor.
There is no extra charge for the light tea during these sessions which is provided to sustain the children until they go home.
